50% upfront.
Always.
This is something I've been trying to figure out how to handle for a while. It's come up a few times and I wanted to find something that works without just ripping people off. So rather than a hard no refund rule I've tried to put a few options in place so if something does come up your money doesn't just disappear.
I'm now requiring a 50% deposit to secure your slot. I only take 5 a month and they go quick so your deposit locks yours in and makes sure we're both actually committed before we start.
If you'd rather just pay the full amount upfront that's completely fine too, totally up to you.
I'm not here to just take your money but last minute cancellations do affect me so I've had to put this in place. If something comes up just lmk in advance and there's a few things we can work out.
Need to reschedule?
Lmk at least a week before and we can look at moving the slot. Just can't keep rescheduling repeatedly as it ends up affecting other people's slots and my schedule too.
Can't make it at all?
If you can find someone else who wants the slot and they're ready to go, I'll honour the swap. Payment wise the person taking the slot would either send you what they owe for it, or if the original person doesn't mind they can just pay for theirs themselves. Either way that side of things is between you two to sort out. Also just to be clear this can't be used to claim a slot for someone who didn't get one when they opened.
Honest version
Just talk to me before it becomes a problem not after. If you give me at least a week's notice I have enough time to try and fill the slot or sort something out. I'm pretty understanding as long as you communicate. If you just disappear that's where it gets difficult.
Also worth knowing — if a refund does happen, the exact amount you get back depends on what the payment provider takes in fees. Things like currency conversion can also mean there's a pound or two difference and that's just how it works on their end, not something I have control over. I'll always try my best to get you back exactly what you sent but just be aware it might not always be the exact amount.
- Deposit is non-refundable if you cancel without notice.
- If a refund does happen the amount you get back may not be exact depending on what the payment provider takes in fees. Not something I can cover on my end.
- Yh once we've started on a song that's locked in, make sure you're happy with it before we begin.
- Revisions are for fine-tuning not starting over.
- Remaining 50% is due before the final file gets sent.
Any questions just DM me before booking and we can talk it through.
